Seeing Myanmar from the seat of your bike!From the chilly Shan Hills to the central plain Mandalay, descend down the splendid colonial charms of Pyinoolwin , riding along the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River, crossing through the desert like terrain with rolling hills of the Popa Mountain Range and cycling amongst the thousand of temples in Bagan , visitors will find a real taste for their passion of outdoors and enjoying it on a bike. Day 01: Yangon arrival and sightseeing 

Arrive at Yangon International airport, welcomed by tour guide and trafnsferred to hotel for check in. After refreshment at hotel, explore Yangon city by a walk through downtown Yangon with it’s Sule Pagoda, City Hall and the Mahabandoola Park. Take a short walk onto the road lined with massive colonial buildings and the road-side vendors. The downtown Yangon is still hosting colonial buildings more than other Southeast Asia countries though most of them were replaced by new apartments. Stopover at the Strand Hotel and feel the warmth/atmosphere of British era. Then, onward to a jetty nearby and see the true local ways of life. We will also stop by at the Kandawgyi park with a great view of Shwedagon pagoda in the back. Proceed to Chaukthakkyi Reclining Buddha Image and there you see the sparse pilgrims in silence. In the evening visit the landmark of Myanmar/Yangon, the great Shwedagon Pagoda. The golden mountain is rocketing to the sky from a hill, pilgrims kneeling down on the platform, offering candle/incent/flower in its vicinity. Overnight at the hotel in Yangon.

Day 02: Yangon – Heho by flight. Bike to Kalaw

After breakfast, transfer to airport and fly to Heho where your bikes await to explore the Shan Plateau. Check the bikes and begin biking to Kalaw. The short but challenging ride up out of the Inle Lake basin takes us through scenic country side to Kalaw, a former British hill station with some Gothic architectural churches and residence. Depending on the time, we can wander through the market or ride around the city looking at the decaying colonial mansions.

Day 03: Kalaw – Pindaya by bike

Today we head north to Pindaya on a road flanked by beautifully manicured fields where much of Myanmar’s product comes from. Lunch in Pindaya and rest for some time in the hotel. Before dinner we will visit the Buddha image filled Pindaya cave. Overnight at the hotel in Inle Lake.
Expected biking distance: 50 km (fluctuated road)

Day 04: Pindaya – Heho – Inle Lake 

After breakfast at hotel, we will begin our bike to Inle lake passing through small villages along the way via Heho by off road flanked by beautifully manicured fields where much of Myanmar’s produce comes from. After arriving Heho, we will be taking main road to proceed to Nyaung Shwe. Upon arrival at Nyaung Shwe, you will be transfer by boat to your hotel in Inle Lake. Overnight at the hotel in Inle Lake.

Day 05: Inle Lake

After breakfast at hotel, you will transferred to the shore to make bike excursion to the villages perched on the edge of Shan Plateau. Bike through green filled paddy fields and be greeted by the children along the way. Return bike to the shore and transfer to your hotel in Inle Lake. Overnight at the hotel in Inle Lake.

Day 06: Inle Lake boat excursion

After breakfast at hotel, we will do boat excursion at Inle Lake. We will visit floating plantations and garden, villages with leg rowing intha people, traditional ways of finishing, a unique production of lotus yarn, handloom weaving cottage with its own showroom, black-smith & cheroot-making industries, etc. You will visit Phaungdawoo Pagoda which houses the five most revered Buddha Images in the southern Shan State and the Jumping Cat monastery. Overnight at the hotel in Inle Lake.

Day 07: Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon by flight (15:45/17:30)

After breakfast, visit a maket place that rotate every five day. Continue our excursion by motorized boat to Indein pagoda complex, in the south-west of the lake. The boat leaves the lake and enters a narrow canal with a beautiful natural environment to continue to a small Pa O tribe village. From the village, follow an old covered path to a 13th century monastery and the very impressive ruins of hundreds of ancient pagodas, some hidden in the vegetation. The main stupa area on the top of the hill offers breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains and down to the valley and the lake in the far distance. In the afternoon, transfer to airport and fly back to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and overnight at the hotel in Yangon.

Day 08: Yangon departure

If your flight is in the morning, you will be transferred to airport for your return departure flight.
For afternoon or evening flights departures, visit by car to Karaweik, a royal barge for fantastic photo shot along the “pilgrims” causeway across the Royal Lake with stunning views of Schwedagon Pagoda and visit Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) market famous for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets. It is one of the major bazaars in Yangon and built in 1926 by the British. You can buy from a simple Myanmar slipper to a jewelry crown there. In the afternoon, transfer to airport for your return departure flight.
