Our Guides were excellent, Khoa in Hanoi, Hoang in Hue, Anne and Tran in Saigon and Mekong Delta, Nguyen in Vung Tau and Houng in Nue Dat. I must say a special mention for Tran as her English and understanding of people were outstanding. She is a brilliant guide.

Our hotel were all excellent. Our friends Robert and Marlene Sutton found the hotel in Vung Tau a little hard because of the slope of the land and the stairs to our rooms. I feel that this was due to their lack of fitness. Keith and I enjoyed the hotel in Vung Tau and the views from our room were amazing.

Hi Lana, we arrived home safely Saturday am after a fabulous holiday in your beautiful country.

Thank you for organising an amazing holiday for us. We found vietnam to be a beautiful country and the people to be very warm and friendly. Our guides were good and Phuoc in South Vietman was absolutely amazing. On reflection the places we enjoyed most were the homestay in Mai Chau, Halong Bay, bike riding at Hoi An, the Mekong Delta and for my son the Cu chi Tunnels where he was able to shoot with the machine guns. These were largely places where we were doing things and being active rather than looking at things. The trip you planned for us was a happy mixture of both sight seeing and physical activity so we had the best of both worlds.

We would highly recommend you and your company to any of our friends or family wanting to visit Vietnam. We miss the weather in Vietnam, it was 45 degrees c today! With thunder, lightning and bush fires.

The whole trip was so enjoyable! Everything included was excellent and we had a wonderful time. The only thing I would suggest, if possible, is a little more free time during the day/evening to relax or do some things by yourself. I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time in Vietnam. Thank you for your help in organising it and looking after us when we were out there. The personal service that we received from you was excellent. This was our first experience with Travel Vietnam and we will be definitely recommending you to friends interested in travelling to Vietnam.

The hotels were all of an excellent standard and all very centrally located. We were very grateful for the mobile phone that your provided us and this became invaluable during the cyclone.

The only comment we would have is that we feel that the Essentials of Vietnam tour should include the Cu Chi caves. We feel this is a very important site to visit in HCMC and we’re pleased that many people had told us to go before we arrived. This trip can easily be done in the same day as the HCMC sightseeing tour.

Please pass on out thanks to the guides and drivers that looked after us during our stay too. We have travelled extensively both independently and through organised tours and this was by the far the best organised trip we have done.

Vietnam Holidays 15 days / 14 nights from 1st – 15th Aug 2017

We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.

As we are retired we do not want to run around and be busy every day. So the free days allowed us to wander around at our own pace and discover local places. So staying in one place for a number of days is rewarding.

The aim of this trip was to find more about local street style food. Most visitors are not adventurous enough to try food from street vendors and previously we have stayed in restaurants. There are a number of cooking shows on Vietnam, notably Luke Nguyen - a Vietnamese chef in Sydney, that have increased our interest.

The Taste of Hoi An Food Tour was amazing. Extremely informative and very well presented. We tasted some 42 foods. It is a MUST DO for anyone interested in Vietnamese food.

We also enjoyed the cooking school trip in Ho Chi Minh too. We had to gather plants before cooking and learnt a lot about them too. More hands on and better dishes than the Red Bridge school - but we hear that Red Bridge have developed more since our visit in 2010.

The tour in Nha Trang was worth doing. Different people have different interests - while Helen liked the mud bath it did little for me. Helen had difficulty with the place being a bit slippery underfoot. We both found the after bath hot pool too hot - we would have preferred a cooler pool [not heated, say 28C] to cool down after the bath.

The river dinner was a good last night. We had an excellent table at the front of the boat. Thanks.

We found Nha Trang food was good and cheaper than Hoi An. Ho Chi Minh was at least twice the price for food and beer.

Some comments:

- if we could be sent the Visa form that we fill in on arrival it should speed the process up. It took a long time to get the visa. A prepared form would help I think.

- I am 184cm tall. The car we had to the airport for departure was low. I had to slide forward to stop my head hitting the roof. I would not want to do a longer trip in that car. The mini buses and SUV type vehicles we used last trip were preferable.

- The guides seemed to recommend restaurants that were more expensive. We found local places ourselves and enjoyed the food there. Our aim was to try authentic local food rather than visit places catering mainly for tourists.

- as an aside, the charger I was given for the phone was the wrong size plug, but it was not a problem.

We have recommended you and Travel Vietnam to a number of our friends.

The only feedback for you to take into consideration for changing is:

- the stop when driving from and to Halong Bay was both the same. It would have been nice to stop at least once in another place.

- if wished by the guests, would be nice to have tour guides on the same table for lunch breaks. (Instead of sitting on another table) But we had the feeling that tour guides are instructed differently by the travel agency.

- Our trip was outstanding! We were very pleased with how well organized it was. Our guides and drivers were all excellent. Each of our guides were very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Giap in Hanoi even managed to retrieve a blouse that I left on the overnight train from Sapa ( I was astounded that he got it back and was very grateful !!!).

Our accommodations were wonderful and we were really impressed by our rooms and the excellent food. We were amazed at the quality of the food even on small boats in Halong Bay and on the Eco Tour in Hoi An!!

We especially enjoyed our trek in Sapa and our Eco Tour in Hoi An. We are so glad the Eco Tour was included because it gave us a chance to actually experience what some Vietnamese people do in their daily life.

Sorry for the late reply! After we left Vietnam, we went on to Bangkok and Phuket and only arrived back in Sydney last Thursday. I would like to personally say what a wonderful time we had in Vietnam! Thank you so much to you and the perfect organization of our trip. We really felt that we were looked after by your special guides and drivers. The guides were all lovely, polite and informative. The accommodation was excellent! Especially the Sofitel Metropole - this was by far the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Thank you for arranging our stay there.

Just to let you know, I have completed the survey. I would have put excellent (10) for the drivers as well, but it took me some time to get used to all the traffic in Vietnam and the way everyone drives there (i.e. overtaking on an incoming lane :) I was a bit scared at first but eventually got used to it). They are very skilled to get around all those motorbikes! haha!

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia - 05 Mar 2017 – 02 Apr 2017

Lana arranged a magical memorable trip for the 4 of us - the accommodations were everything we hoped for and not only that her attention to detail was amazing - this included a birthday cake for me on my special day and flowers - how very thoughtful! The guides were informative and gave us great insight into the culture of the countries we visited and both drivers and guides acted extremely professionally at all times. The only hiccup we had was with the Cambodia arrangements - there was a breakdown in pickup at the Siem Reap airport and again in Pnom Pehn but was rectified immediately to our satisfaction. I really feel Lana had a good understanding of our needs and wants for the trip and arranged everything accordingly - this is so important when visiting a strange country and being able to rely on her expertise was invaluable. She was always available by email and answered promptly at all times. I am already recommending Asia Essence Tours and Lana's services here in Canada to colleagues and friends. It was an exceptional experience. NOTE - regarding the Cambodia rating - the #3 is for the driver who took us to Phnom Pehn - the car was old and had no seat belts even though we specifically asked for them but the driver on the pickup day from the airport was great.

We had a great tine in Vietnam. EVEN THROUGH THE FLIGHT BACK WAS TIRING, everything went well. We are now adjusting to snow and 2°C. Thanks for the late check out on the date of our departure and the 45$ refund for the Cu Chi tunnels. The 5 hrs. on the last day of the trip was too tiring for all of us. It was a pleasant gesture of refunding us even though there was the no-refund on the cancellation. Once again it was much appreciated.

In Sa Pa - Mrs May (Tel: 016774771198). She learned to speak English speaking with the tourists. She was incredibly warm and friendly. The unscheduled trip to her village, meeting her family made it very special. Her pronunciation of English was a lot better than some of the other guides we had.

In Seam Reap - Mr. Maden - he actually changed his program on the last day to take us to the airport. And for the seating arrangements at the Apsara Show he tried very hard to get us good seats up front.

It was the extraordinary efforts of these 2 guides that also made our trip memorable. I would like you to please mention it in your report.

P/s: I also would like to mention that our travel consultant Lana Vien did a fantastic, professional & excellent job of coordinating and efficiently responding to our every change in the planning stage of our vacation. Everything went off so smoothly especial the fact that there was always a guide there every time we came to a new city. All the hotels were good and we were very satisfied with all of our accommodations. I want to than Travel Vietnam for making this vacation a most memorable one (except for the train - that I’d like to forget!!!!). I have already sent your link to 3 of my friends. After having returned from our outstanding vacation, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the tour-guides and drivers for the excellent job. We enjoyed most the guide in Cambodia and Ho Ngoc Thong (Saigon) as well as Tran Thanh Ha (Hoi An).

Both, Ho Ngoc Thong and the guide in Cambodia had an outstanding knowledge which they shared with us, which made the tour in Cambodia and Saigon with Mekong Delta stunning and extremly enjoyable !!

It does not matter, that we could not get an official Harley-Davidson T-Shirt. Now, after having experienced the city and after having seen nearly 6 million small motorbikes, it is more than understandable to me, that there is no official Harley-Davidson dealership in Saigon, yet. But, it doesn't matter. We enjoyed the tour so much, that we will spread to visit Cambodia and Vietnam within our friends and relatives.

We will also recommend ASIA ESSENCE TOURST - that's for sure ....you were very, very good!

If we would go again, we would make a few slightly changes. We would not go to see Dalat, we would spend more time in Mekong Delta and we would stay in the Mekong Delta overnight to be able to get more of the authentic feeling, how people live there.

The only thing that we have been confused was heating in Bamboo hotel in Sa pa. They do have central heating, but they are switching it on for just couple of hours which is definitely not helping during winter time, but during these two days that we spend in Sa pa we realize that heating do not exist for people leaving there and probably hotel is economizing energy. Fortunately we did not get sick, so we could continue our trip to Halong bay. Calipso boat was excellent with very nice people working there.

Vietnam – Cambodia discovery 30 Dec 2017 – 13 Jan 2017

Thank you for organising our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia and we all had a fantastic time in both countries. Most of us returned to Australia early this week and few people went to Sri Lanka for an extended holiday. I have attached a couple of photos we took at the hotel when we met. It was really nice to meet you in person and wished we had bit more time to have a chat.

Your country is very beautiful and we all enjoyed the many places we visited and the Paradise Cruise in Halong Bay was very special, something we will remember for a very long time. I have to thank you for organising everything to meet our expectations. The choice of hotels and restaurants was excellent. All tour guides were very professional, friendly and made sure that we had a very good time. Please convey our kind regards to all of them, in particular Khoa and Tran who were very caring and friendly.

I certainly will highly recommend your company to our friends who may be planning to visit Vietnam in the future and already given your contact details to a couple of people.

I also like to point out a couple of things for your company to consider in organising future Tours. Many in our group were a bit concerned about the safety of several boat trips we had during the tour. In particular, the one we went to visit the floating village in Siem Reap. We understand that these trips are partly to give a first hand knowledge to tourists about the way of life for people in various parts of the world. The boat we travelled in Siem Reap was driven by a 16-year old kid and was not very good mechanically. Perhaps, in future trips it would be worthwhile to provide life jackets to everyone and contract only those with a good safety record to provide the boats. The other issue was the unnecessary delay and extensive questioning by the Immigration Officers in Siem Reap. They were asking for a letter from the Cambodian Tour Group and felt that we were delayed unnecessary. Some officers at the counters asked for money. Not sure what you can do about these things but something to consider to help promote tourism in that country.

Anyway, these are not criticisms but something that will help improve your business and bring more tourists to your country.

Overall, we had the most enjoyable trip which we will talk about for many years to come. Not sure when but If we decide to visit Vietnam again in the future you will be the first to know about it.

Finally, the ladies told me that you are expecting a baby soon. I like to wish you the very best and a safe arrival of the baby when due. Good Luck and best wishes!! Cheers

On reflection the places we enjoyed most were the homestay in Mai Chau, Halong Bay, bike riding at Hoi An, the Mekong Delta and for my son the Cu chi Tunnels where he was able to shoot with the machine guns. These were largely places where we were doing things and being active rather than looking at things. The trip you planned for us was a happy mixture of both sight seeing and physical activity so we had the best of both worlds.

We would highly recommend you and your company to any of our friends or family wanting to visit Vietnam. We miss the weather in Vietnam, it was 45 degrees c today! With thunder, lightning and bush fires.

Vietnam Holidays 15 days / 14 nights from 1st – 15th Aug 2017

We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.

As we are retired we do not want to run around and be busy every day. So the free days allowed us to wander around at our own pace and discover local places. So staying in one place for a number of days is rewarding.

The aim of this trip was to find more about local street style food. Most visitors are not adventurous enough to try food from street vendors and previously we have stayed in restaurants. There are a number of cooking shows on Vietnam, notably Luke Nguyen - a Vietnamese chef in Sydney, that have increased our interest.

The Taste of Hoi An Food Tour was amazing. Extremely informative and very well presented. We tasted some 42 foods. It is a MUST DO for anyone interested in Vietnamese food.

We also enjoyed the cooking school trip in Ho Chi Minh too. We had to gather plants before cooking and learnt a lot about them too. More hands on and better dishes than the Red Bridge school - but we hear that Red Bridge have developed more since our visit in 2010.

The tour in Nha Trang was worth doing. Different people have different interests - while Helen liked the mud bath it did little for me. Helen had difficulty with the place being a bit slippery underfoot. We both found the after bath hot pool too hot - we would have preferred a cooler pool [not heated, say 28C] to cool down after the bath.

The river dinner was a good last night. We had an excellent table at the front of the boat. Thanks.

We found Nha Trang food was good and cheaper than Hoi An. Ho Chi Minh was at least twice the price for food and beer.

Some comments:

- if we could be sent the Visa form that we fill in on arrival it should speed the process up. It took a long time to get the visa. A prepared form would help I think.

- I am 184cm tall. The car we had to the airport for departure was low. I had to slide forward to stop my head hitting the roof. I would not want to do a longer trip in that car. The mini buses and SUV type vehicles we used last trip were preferable.

- The guides seemed to recommend restaurants that were more expensive. We found local places ourselves and enjoyed the food there. Our aim was to try authentic local food rather than visit places catering mainly for tourists.

- as an aside, the charger I was given for the phone was the wrong size plug, but it was not a problem.

We have recommended you and Travel Vietnam to a number of our friends.

- the stop when driving from and to Halong Bay was both the same. It would have been nice to stop at least once in another place.

- if wished by the guests, would be nice to have tour guides on the same table for lunch breaks. (Instead of sitting on another table) But we had the feeling that tour guides are instructed differently by the travel agency.

- Our trip was outstanding! We were very pleased with how well organized it was. Our guides and drivers were all excellent. Each of our guides were very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Giap in Hanoi even managed to retrieve a blouse that I left on the overnight train from Sapa ( I was astounded that he got it back and was very grateful !!!).

Our accommodations were wonderful and we were really impressed by our rooms and the excellent food. We were amazed at the quality of the food even on small boats in Halong Bay and on the Eco Tour in Hoi An!!

Sorry for the late reply! After we left Vietnam, we went on to Bangkok and Phuket and only arrived back in Sydney last Thursday. I would like to personally say what a wonderful time we had in Vietnam! Thank you so much to you and the perfect organization of our trip. We really felt that we were looked after by your special guides and drivers. The guides were all lovely, polite and informative. The accommodation was excellent! Especially the Sofitel Metropole - this was by far the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Thank you for arranging our stay there.

Just to let you know, I have completed the survey. I would have put excellent (10) for the drivers as well, but it took me some time to get used to all the traffic in Vietnam and the way everyone drives there (i.e. overtaking on an incoming lane :) I was a bit scared at first but eventually got used to it). They are very skilled to get around all those motorbikes! haha!

Lana arranged a magical memorable trip for the 4 of us - the accommodations were everything we hoped for and not only that her attention to detail was amazing - this included a birthday cake for me on my special day and flowers - how very thoughtful! The guides were informative and gave us great insight into the culture of the countries we visited and both drivers and guides acted extremely professionally at all times. The only hiccup we had was with the Cambodia arrangements - there was a breakdown in pickup at the Siem Reap airport and again in Pnom Pehn but was rectified immediately to our satisfaction. I really feel Lana had a good understanding of our needs and wants for the trip and arranged everything accordingly - this is so important when visiting a strange country and being able to rely on her expertise was invaluable. She was always available by email and answered promptly at all times. I am already recommending Asia Essence Tours and Lana's services here in Canada to colleagues and friends. It was an exceptional experience. NOTE - regarding the Cambodia rating - the #3 is for the driver who took us to Phnom Pehn - the car was old and had no seat belts even though we specifically asked for them but the driver on the pickup day from the airport was great.

We had a great tine in Vietnam. EVEN THROUGH THE FLIGHT BACK WAS TIRING, everything went well. We are now adjusting to snow and 2°C. Thanks for the late check out on the date of our departure and the 45$ refund for the Cu Chi tunnels. The 5 hrs. on the last day of the trip was too tiring for all of us. It was a pleasant gesture of refunding us even though there was the no-refund on the cancellation. Once again it was much appreciated.

I also had the pleasure of finally meeting you. We loved our trip seeing your beautiful country and getting to know the culture. I would like to make a special thanks to 2 guides who made our trip especially memorable:

In Sa Pa - Mrs May (Tel: 016774771198). She learned to speak English speaking with the tourists. She was incredibly warm and friendly. The unscheduled trip to her village, meeting her family made it very special. Her pronunciation of English was a lot better than some of the other guides we had.

In Seam Reap - Mr. Maden - he actually changed his program on the last day to take us to the airport. And for the seating arrangements at the Apsara Show he tried very hard to get us good seats up front.

It was the extraordinary efforts of these 2 guides that also made our trip memorable. I would like you to please mention it in your report.

P/s: I also would like to mention that our travel consultant Lana Vien did a fantastic, professional & excellent job of coordinating and efficiently responding to our every change in the planning stage of our vacation. Everything went off so smoothly especial the fact that there was always a guide there every time we came to a new city. All the hotels were good and we were very satisfied with all of our accommodations. I want to than Travel Vietnam for making this vacation a most memorable one (except for the train - that I’d like to forget!!!!). I have already sent your link to 3 of my friends. After having returned from our outstanding vacation, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the tour-guides and drivers for the excellent job. We enjoyed most the guide in Cambodia and Ho Ngoc Thong (Saigon) as well as Tran Thanh Ha (Hoi An).

Both, Ho Ngoc Thong and the guide in Cambodia had an outstanding knowledge which they shared with us, which made the tour in Cambodia and Saigon with Mekong Delta stunning and extremly enjoyable !!

It does not matter, that we could not get an official Harley-Davidson T-Shirt. Now, after having experienced the city and after having seen nearly 6 million small motorbikes, it is more than understandable to me, that there is no official Harley-Davidson dealership in Saigon, yet. But, it doesn't matter. We enjoyed the tour so much, that we will spread to visit Cambodia and Vietnam within our friends and relatives.

We will also recommend ASIA ESSENCE TOURST - that's for sure ....you were very, very good!

If we would go again, we would make a few slightly changes. We would not go to see Dalat, we would spend more time in Mekong Delta and we would stay in the Mekong Delta overnight to be able to get more of the authentic feeling, how people live there.

We were very satisfied with our trip to two beautiful and interesting Asian countries Cambodia and Vietnam.

Your organisation was excellent, hotels were good (especially hotel in Hanoi which was excellent - location, service, very clean and beautifully designed) cars and drivers excellent.

The only thing that we have been confused was heating in Bamboo hotel in Sa pa. They do have central heating, but they are switching it on for just couple of hours which is definitely not helping during winter time, but during these two days that we spend in Sa pa we realize that heating do not exist for people leaving there and probably hotel is economizing energy. Fortunately we did not get sick, so we could continue our trip to Halong bay. Calipso boat was excellent with very nice people working there.

Vietnam – Cambodia discovery 30 Dec 2017 – 13 Jan 2017

Thank you for organising our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia and we all had a fantastic time in both countries. Most of us returned to Australia early this week and few people went to Sri Lanka for an extended holiday. I have attached a couple of photos we took at the hotel when we met. It was really nice to meet you in person and wished we had bit more time to have a chat.

Your country is very beautiful and we all enjoyed the many places we visited and the Paradise Cruise in Halong Bay was very special, something we will remember for a very long time. I have to thank you for organising everything to meet our expectations. The choice of hotels and restaurants was excellent. All tour guides were very professional, friendly and made sure that we had a very good time. Please convey our kind regards to all of them, in particular Khoa and Tran who were very caring and friendly.

I certainly will highly recommend your company to our friends who may be planning to visit Vietnam in the future and already given your contact details to a couple of people.

I also like to point out a couple of things for your company to consider in organising future Tours. Many in our group were a bit concerned about the safety of several boat trips we had during the tour. In particular, the one we went to visit the floating village in Siem Reap. We understand that these trips are partly to give a first hand knowledge to tourists about the way of life for people in various parts of the world. The boat we travelled in Siem Reap was driven by a 16-year old kid and was not very good mechanically. Perhaps, in future trips it would be worthwhile to provide life jackets to everyone and contract only those with a good safety record to provide the boats. The other issue was the unnecessary delay and extensive questioning by the Immigration Officers in Siem Reap. They were asking for a letter from the Cambodian Tour Group and felt that we were delayed unnecessary. Some officers at the counters asked for money. Not sure what you can do about these things but something to consider to help promote tourism in that country.

Anyway, these are not criticisms but something that will help improve your business and bring more tourists to your country.

Overall, we had the most enjoyable trip which we will talk about for many years to come. Not sure when but If we decide to visit Vietnam again in the future you will be the first to know about it.

Finally, the ladies told me that you are expecting a baby soon. I like to wish you the very best and a safe arrival of the baby when due. Good Luck and best wishes!! Cheers

How are you. Well we are back to our place of work and would like to thank you once again for all your help and efforts in making our holiday the most memorable one for us. The only thing we thought what could be worked on is the time we have spent on the airports while travelling within Vietnam, especially after the trip from Halong Bay the waiting time was a bit too long.

A small mistake on the part of the tour guide in Saigaon, was dropping us off at the International airport terminal, when we had to take a domestic flight to Hanoi. It was a bit of an inconvenience to us.

We just landed at Dubai airport. To start with, I need to thank you and Travel Vietnam for the excellent arrangements. We had a perfect vacation!!

The overall arrangements during the trip were excellent. I was particularly impressed by Lana who was efficient and always very prompt and relevant in her replies to my queries. The quality of hotels was up to the expected standard. Victoria Angkor at Siem Reap was easily the best with very high standard of rooms, food and service (it was well worth the additional cost). Although the rooms at Riverside Bamboo Resort at Hoian were spacious, the other amenities and services were very average (the location was also not very convenient). The guides at all the locations were very good. However, Mr Chung at HCMC deserves a special mention. He did his best to show us the maximum possible in the limited time available. He also gave very good advice on the shopping areas and restaurants to visit on our own time in the evening. Mr Pasquale in Siem Reap was also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His efforts ensured that we went on the Angkor Wat balloon ride although it had been cancelled on the scheduled day due to windy conditions. I chose Travel Vietnam purely based on my hunch (without any references) and the confidence provided by Lana. I fully realise that vacations can never be perfect but this was as close as it can get! On hindsight, we certainly have no regrets. I would not hesitate to recommend Travel Vietnam to my friends would certainly use them again. Thank you
