Mandalay

Mandalay is the second largest city and the last royal capital of Myanmar Kingdom. It is located in the central of Myanmar and still remains the economic hub of Upper Burma in spite of Naypyidaw’s rise.

In addition, Mandalay is well-known for its cultural diversity. Tourists going to the city expect to not only enjoy the wonderful sights but also observe and learn about the changes of Myanmar traditions and cultures. Mandalay was acted as the capital of the country for several decades in the long standing history as approximately 150 year-old Mandalay Palace. Due to good maintenance, the Palace is the ideal place to explore real ancient Myanmar. In addition, the city is a famous religious land. It is believed that the Buddha had visited Mandalay once and made a prophecy that a great city would be founded at the foot of Mandalay Hill. Half of Myanmar's monks reside in Mandalay and the surrounding areas. Not only inside but also nearby the city, Mandalay offers tourists a large number of attractions. One of these is “Pyin Oo Lwin”, an amazing hill resort with pleasant weather and pure environment. Mandalay deserved to be the most memorable place for visitors coming to Myanmar.
